AS CS SS
The comment field is a text field used by those associated
with a bug to dialog with each other to track questions, details, steps,
attempted fixes, etc. for a bug. Anyone that can access a bug can create a
comment. The comment string is searchable.
See:
Description
Ability to reference a specific comment.
Bugzilla numbers each comment when it is saved which is useful in several different scenarios. For example,
Bugzilla includes a link to the most recent comment in email notifications.
Each comment header includes a link to itself so you can copy/paste it into an
email or document if you need to refer to a specific comment. In addition, when
writing a comment you can automatically create a link to a specific previous
comment simply by typing
comment <#>. Say for example I had a bug with
over 50 comments. I could create a link to comment 45 simply by typing
comment
45. Bugzilla will create the link when you click Save.
