I did this yesterday and thought I did something wrong. I gave my apprentice a laptop to install leap 42.2 beta 2 on today and he hit the same issue.

Install openSUSE leap 42.2 on a machine, and select region as English UK, then the langugage gets updated to English UK.

However, when you log in to gnome for the first time you notice the login screen keyboard is set to US instead and UK language is not installed.

This affects the desktop language as well as the login screen language.
