Description Jan Engelhardt 2005-08-09 09:25:20 UTC
Captured this right after a fresh install of 10.b1-CD1.
See Login: vs Password:, it is quite a bit unaligned.

I remember seen this before (Mike and Werner were involved too). Which kind of
installation is this exactly so I can try to reproduce this?
Comment 3 Jan Engelhardt 2005-08-09 09:40:59 UTC
"Minimal graphic w/o {GNOME|KDE}"
Comment 4 Jan Engelhardt 2005-08-09 09:43:57 UTC
But IIRC, I chose "Text-only", so another wonder why there's X11 around.
Comment 5 Stefan Dirsch 2005-08-09 09:49:46 UTC
This is another bug fixed for Beta2. But to make sure, this is not related to
this, please select all packages from X11 selection and retry again.
Comment 6 Dr. Werner Fink 2005-08-09 09:50:58 UTC
It seems that the files /usr/X11R6/bin/BackGround (package xdmbgrd)
and /etc/X11/xdm/Xresources are missed or the file /etc/X11/xdm/Xsetup
was modified.

On the other side it could also be that simply the correct font
helvetica is not installed (why?)
Comment 7 Jan Engelhardt 2005-08-09 10:02:20 UTC
Yes, according to xlsfonts, helvetica is not installed.
Comment 8 Stefan Dirsch 2005-08-09 10:02:33 UTC
Ok. Then it is clearly a duplicate.
