Connecting to a site with Kbear works and I even can make folders, but when I 
try to send a file, KBear crashes.

install debuginfos from beta1 and include the backtrace

hmm, not helping. qextmdi corrupts memory badly. *sigh*. non trivial to fix.

I use SuSE10.0 on i386 and have the problem:
My kbear crashed too when trying to download to local disk, but the backtrace is:
