Attached is the KDM log. I see no errors.
However, he bug is now irreproducible for me. When I had the problems, KDM
looked just like in previous releases, a approximately square window with users
and icons on the left, the KDE gear in the upper right, and the menus in the
lower right. The background was blue with abstract slashes and shading. This
morning, the display mamanger is a radial blue background with no well defined
window, the user list and menu are directly in the background. There are a
vertical and a horizontal line of dots in graduated sizes.
I've hacked various userland dot scripts trying to debug the process and force
the WM to blackbox. I will start backing out my changes and see if I have
expected functionality.
any news here? It remains un-reproducable. I am unclear what changed to cause KDM to start working as expected. If I had to gues, I'd suspect an unstated dependency that was satisfied by installation of a package after installation. But your guess is better than mine. I plan on installing the beta2 tomorrow (8/23). If it doesn't recur, I'll close the bug. Fixed in beta3. |
