what do you expect me to do with your explanation ?? there is no information I can use to make you happy... something is not working but I remember another OS which managed it please do it the same way *????* please provide the output of the following command: hwinfo --monitor Thanks Sorry - was late when I finally got to reporting the bug. In SuSE 9.2 'hwinfo
--monitor' gives this (I'm unable to run the beta today):
25: None 00.0: 10002 LCD Monitor
[Created at monitor.100]
Unique ID: rdCR.+sOs0apa6W9
Hardware Class: monitor
Model: "Dell Notebook LCD"
Vendor: "Dell Computer Corporation"
Device: "Notebook LCD"
Resolution: 1600x1200@60Hz
Driver Info #0:
Max. Resolution: 1600x1200
Vert. Sync Range: 50-75 Hz
Hor. Sync Range: 31-108 kHz
Config Status: cfg=yes, avail=yes, need=yes, active=unknown
(And yes, it is a 1400x1050 display).
Still the same in beta2. The display which is picked for me in installation is "--> LCD 1600x1200@75HZ", but the one that is needed is "DELL 1400X LAPTOP DISPLAY PANEL" The output above from SuSE 9.2 is the same as the output from openSUSE 10 beta 2. I have a similar problem, my SONY Multiscan E400 is not automatically
detected.

Hmm... again I have a KVM switch between gfxcard and monitor,
removed it - did not help.
Is this fixed yet? (Bugzilla said it was going to close this bug). Can you post the contents of your xorg.conf file? Sounds like an X problem I just installed 10.1 beta 8, and the display was detected fine. |
