Description Dirk Mueller 2005-08-11 15:11:27 UTC
$ modinfo fglrx-linux

license: Proprietary. (C) 2002 - ATI Technologies, Starnberg, GERMANY

rpm
-qf /lib/modules/scripts/fglrx/2.6.13-rc5-git3-3-default/fglrx-linux.o-8.16.6
kernel-default-2.6.13_rc5_git3-3

it should be in nongpl
Comment 1 Hubert Mantel 2005-08-12 10:07:59 UTC
Agreed.
Comment 2 Stefan Dirsch 2005-08-12 10:22:54 UTC
I'm happy with moving it to -nongpl as long as -nongpl is still installed and
updated by default. :-)
Comment 3 Stefan Dirsch 2005-08-12 10:26:50 UTC
BTW, the same applies to

  /lib/modules/precompiled/<kernel>/nvidia/gfx/nv-linux.o-1.0-7667.pre
  /lib/modules/scripts/nvidia/<kernel>/nv-linux.o-1.0-7667

I think that anything below

  /lib/modules/precompiled/
  /lib/modules/scripts/

should reside in -nongpl.
Comment 4 Andreas Jaeger 2005-08-12 10:32:21 UTC
Stefan, please put it into nongpl.
Comment 5 Stefan Dirsch 2005-08-12 10:39:43 UTC
Better Andreas will do this. It's a kernel packaging issue.
Comment 6 Andreas Gruenbacher 2005-08-16 15:48:40 UTC
Can we ignore this until we switch nvidia over to the new kernel driver rpms?
Comment 7 Stefan Dirsch 2005-08-16 15:57:17 UTC
It's still not sure whether this will already happen for 10.0. I still didn't
find the time to care of the new driver update process. So please do it.
