Thew new alsasound init script rely on hwcfg-*. Maybe it's missing? Can it be fixed when you reconfigure the sound device via yast? YaST does not change anything. There is no hwcfg file for the sound # cat /etc/modprobe.d/sound options snd-powermac index=0 # 5lYh.ITz6G5CcwPB:Integrated Sound (awacs) alias snd-card-0 snd-powermac # cat /var/lib/hardware/unique-keys/5lYh.ITz6G5CcwPB [General] UniqueID=5lYh.ITz6G5CcwPB ParentID=ydxh.PVOXnfa50W1 HWClass=sound Model=Apple Integrated Sound (awacs) [Status] Configured=yes Available=yes Needed=no Active=unknown [Hardware] BaseClass=0x4 SubClass=0x1 VendorID=s0401 DeviceID=0010 DeviceName=Integrated Sound (awacs) VendorName=Apple ROMID=pci@f2000000/mac-io@17/i2s@10000/i2s-a@10000/sound HWClassList=00800000000000 Res.Interrupts=30,0,1 We need a static hwcfg for such devices. I guess non-PnP ISA boards have the same problem. Ladislav, could you check this? There is really no hwcfg file? Yast sound module should write hwcfg-static-* file for all non-PCI sound cards.
