I don't completely understand what you are asking for. Please, describe step by step what you need to do now and then which steps should be possible to simplify. It seems its about "adding installation source" where indeed the values are asked separately instead of asking for an URL. It is probably because the same dialog is used for more than only FTP source. It might be, FTP, HTTP, samba (?), NFS, HDD, ... And you have the "Source type", "Server" and "Server directory" ... (+ options) Its effectively the first point. Copy and paste a lot of URL is not easiest by this way. Screenshot here : http://susewiki.org/images/b/bd/Add_yast_source.png The third point is about the mean to launch a verification of new available RPM, after you have put new FTP. (traduction from french are mine, the word could be different) In Yast in "Install and delete software" you take "packages group", then you scroll down and choose "all". Then you right click on a package and select "all in this list" then in a sub-menu "upgrade if a newer version is available". -> Instead of all of this, is it possible to just have a visible button wich make this esier ? -> Is it possible to merge the upgrade of FTP server (actually in "change install support) and the launch RPM download and install ? Flo This should be a wizard, asking one question per step. The first question should be the type of source or 'URL'. -> Code10 -> CC sigi Great idea ! first question : add a type of source or 'URL' -> Yes/No second : "should we upgrade this(these) source(s)" third : "We find these package to upgrade (list of packages), do you want to proceed ?" Yeah, let's do this for 10.1! Ok. Klaus, please add it to the feature document and close the bug. Where is this feature document ? I can't find it. Source type "URL" is already added and present in 10.1. It's not a wizard, but the feature is there, integrated in the same place where the other ways of adding sources are. => FIXED? This bug is now fixed for me, even if a wizard would be easier for newbie (in 10.2 ?). Great job, thanks. OK, marking as FIXED. |
