Description İsmail Dönmez 2005-08-13 17:47:19 UTC
Konversation ( http://konversation.kde.org ) should provided as IRC Chat Client. Currenly there is only
Kopete.
Comment 1 Dirk Mueller 2005-08-13 18:02:43 UTC
$ zgrep konversation INDEX.gz
./CD3/suse/i586/konversation-0.18-4.i586.rpm

there is strong disagreement about putting another irc client into the default
install.
Comment 2 Stephan Binner 2005-08-13 18:12:29 UTC
Dirk, there is no (other) IRC client in the "KDE Desktop Environment"
selection.
If you have Xchat installed it's because you have "GNOME System" selection
installed.
Comment 3 Dirk Mueller 2005-08-13 18:54:27 UTC
I use konversation. Kopete is in the KDE-desktop selection, and it can do IRC
as well (not very well though). Konversation is listed in the
Productivity/Network/IRC group.

maybe this can be reconsidered for 10.1 though.
Comment 4 Stephan Kulow 2005-08-13 19:25:28 UTC
our default KDE will be for the time being trailed for average home user. And
IRC is considered "just another protocol"
Comment 5 Stephan Kulow 2006-02-03 11:40:52 UTC
I consider changing my mind
Comment 6 Stephan Kulow 2006-02-03 11:41:15 UTC
AJ, may I?
Comment 7 Andreas Jaeger 2006-02-03 12:18:32 UTC
Michael, any concerns?

Coolo go ahead on monday unless Michael raises a issue.
Comment 8 Stephan Kulow 2006-02-06 13:53:34 UTC
don't see any - Stefan, can you please add that to KDE-Desktop?
Comment 9 Stefan Dirsch 2006-02-06 13:58:18 UTC
fixed for Beta4.
