I was able to fix this problem: 1) Force YaST do remove _all_ YaST-Themes 2) Install the original theme. Now, most icons (all but the scanner-icon) are back. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 103024 *** There's actually 2 problems here... The "missing hardware/scanner icon" one is a duplicate of 103024, true enough, but the second problem is that if you install the yast2-theme-nld, yast2 loses _all_ icons, and this is not a duplicate of the other problem. I'm seeing the latter problem on my opensuse beta2 install, as are several other people in #opensuse (bill-barriere, among others). Should I file a new bug for this? Thanks. But yast2-theme-NLD is not part of SUSE LINUX 10.0. Installing packages from other distributions is not supported. All filenames of icons in the YaST theme where prepended with "yast-". http://mirrors.kernel.org/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS-beta2/inst-source/ CD1/suse/noarch/yast2-theme-NLD-0.2-5.noarch.rpm I don't understand what you mean by "not part of SUSE Linux 10.0" since this is part of SL-10.0-OSS-beta2. It's a selectable theme in the software installation section. Either it should be removed (not selectable) or it should be fixed (made to work with Yast2), shouldn't it?? Having it as a selectable package and expecting users to just know better than to select it doesn't seem quite right, does it? Yast2 doesn't even give a conflict or error about installing it. I really think this bug should be reopened and fixed, but won't do it again myself. It's not listed in the packages file taken from the CD of Beta 2. That's where I looked. Rudi, can you ensure that the package yast2-theme-NLD isn't mirrored anywhere outside of Novell as a package for openSUSE? moved to sles_only, let's hope I don't try to clean that one up sooner or later ... |
