Description Davor Horvatic 2005-08-14 16:55:48 UTC
Since SuSE 9.0 (or maybe 8.2) there is a constantly wrong layout of Croatian
keyboard so I'm forced to use Bosnian or Solvenian (which are the same). I have
no problem with this but many newcomers to linux probably will be confused. When
last SuSE 9.3 arrived I was positive that bug was removed, but nothin changed,
and also I was suprised that none of Croatian distribuers did not complain. I'm
a theoretical physicist and I only use linux for work, I do not intend to do
SuSE 10.0 beta testing but I'm submitting this bug so that issue mentioned abowe
should be checked and resolved

Simply compare Slovenian, Bosnian and Croatian layout ! (and compare same
layouts in version 9.3)

Since we switched to the xkeyboard-config project for the keyboard maps I'm
assuming this is fixed now. To bad, that you are not interested in testing the
Beta. It would be really appreciated! Maybe you can at least describe what's
wrong so I can verify it is fixed now?
Comment 2 Davor Horvatic 2005-08-14 17:17:47 UTC
Well the issue was present in SuSE 9.3, in Croatian layout "-" sign was replaced
with "<" i think. I used line of less resistance. When installation completed I
checked layout on X-Windows and if it was wrong a switched back to Slovenian or
Bosnian.

I'm big fan of SuSE since 6.4 version (and I made all of my department to switch
to SuSE 5 years ago) and I would rally like to participate in Beta test but I'm
near the end of my PhD studies and there is no time. For shure I'll use the
final suse 10.0 and if problem will be present I'll make a post here.
Comment 3 Stefan Dirsch 2005-08-14 17:30:48 UTC
Ok. I'll verify at at least the -/< issue.
Comment 4 Stefan Dirsch 2005-08-15 03:42:40 UTC
In 9.3 "-","_" was replaced "/","?". This will be fixed in 10.0 (already in
Beta1).

9.3:
----
key <AB10>  { [     slash,   question, dead_belowdot, dead_abovedot ] };

10.0:

key <AB10>  { [     minus, underscore, dead_belowdot, dead_abovedot ] };
