Description Christian Boltz 2005-08-16 19:15:22 UTC
When booting the 10.0 beta1 DVD on my Acer TravelMate laptop, I see the
message "Activating PCMCIA devices... failed" on tty1 (directly before the
"Loading installation system" message appears).

My laptop has the possibility to insert a PCMCIA card, but I have none.

I don't know if this is a bug or just because I have no PCMCIA card inserted -
however the "failed" worries me.

I'll attach boot.msg.

Christian (Zoz), do the various changes from beta1 to beta2 regarding PCMCIA
cover this?
Comment 3 Christian Zoz 2005-08-17 08:50:14 UTC
We still had problems with installation via pcmcia in beta1 which should be
fixed now. So we could consider this as fixed.
Comment 4 Stefan Behlert 2005-08-17 10:25:31 UTC
Still present with beta2, sorry folks. Is this a bug in the linuxrc or in
hardware detection?
Comment 5 Steffen Winterfeldt 2005-08-17 10:29:39 UTC
sorry, no way I could make it for beta-2
Comment 6 Stefan Behlert 2005-08-17 10:37:46 UTC
so in beta3 we can expect it to work?
