When you start in bootlevel 3, the initial console on F1 has text in a grey on
bright blue background with a disturbing brighter spot in the middle. 

I don't mind how it looks during booting, but this is for actually usage. It is
unusable even for people with good eye sight.

Is this true for SUSE LINUX 10.0 Beta 1 ?

Beta2 contains just a preliminary version since Ken was on vacation.  Wait for
beta3...

It's fixed.  You should check beta3 ;-)
