It would be cool to have a News page in the wiki that's also accessible  
through an RSS (or whatever syndicatable) feed.

martin can you evaluate the 3 blog extensions mentioned here?
or see if any other extension can provide the desired feature?

Any update on this? It would be really useful to have. The current http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_News is anything but ideal.

http://news.opensuse.org went online today and it provides an RSS feed.
