Description Karsten Keil 2005-08-18 14:13:53 UTC
If I enter various submenues during installation configuration from the main
menue, it takes always ~20 sec after comming back to the main menue, before
I can do the next step. Is seems that yast discover all configurations new,
even if I only change eg. the mice type or the time.
The PC is a AMD Athlon 2600+ with 1GB RAM, so I thing 20 sec is much to long.

Maybe Yast should use a cache of the informations and only update the changes
for the menu point which was entered.
I saw this already in the previous versions, so it is not new.
I can offer logs if needed, but installation is not finished yet.

Caching of information does not work in general since the proposals
depend on each other.

Klaus, you may want to add this to the feature document.
Comment 2 Klaus Kämpf 2005-08-30 08:36:33 UTC
Its not that easy. All settings are dependendant and you have to re-check all
other settings if one was changed.

But I agree, there is room for improvement.

Reponened for cleanup after Code10 release.
