Description Chad Collins 2005-08-19 14:12:17 UTC
User is attempting to install SUSE 10.0 Beta1 x86-64 (64bit), on a system that
has SUSE 9.3 Pro x86 (32bit) on it. After Choosing "Upgrade" installation, and
performing "Manual Intervention" steps in the package selection section, the
user changes their mind and decides to click the "back" button to change
Installation Mode to "New Installation."

However, upon proceeding forward after changing to "New Installation", the
installer does not clear the previously detected list of packages from the
earlier-selected "Upgrade" method choice.

Furthermore, attempts to format the installation partition at this point, appear
to complete alright, but the installer fails with a message stating that it is
unable to mount "/".

Circumvention:

- Reboot system and choose "New Installation" method.

yast2 logs

These logs are from a Beta3 Installation, where the same behavior is happening.

When the installation mode is changed, the package manager is reset. Done in
SVN, pleae, test with Beta4.
