Description Ilkka Pirskanen 2005-08-19 19:19:51 UTC
I installed Beta2 as a new installation over Beta1 (/swap and / formatted as
part of the installation). Language selection is Finnish. I added
Kernel-development selection in YAST. I don't know if either of these choices
has any effect on the bug.

During installation from CD1, the following packages failed:
cifs-mount
checkmedia
finger

The CD1 was checked as part of installation and passed OK. Retry didn't help,
I had to select Ignore to continue with the installation. Otherwise, the
installation was successful (but network card didn't start until after
rebooting).

Seems like a defect media. Although strange that the media check worked.
Comment 3 Ilkka Pirskanen 2005-08-21 16:04:11 UTC
It seems like a defect media, but the media check worked OK. I installed later
through YaST cifs-mount, finger and checkmedia from the same media
successfully.

This must be either one-time read-error from the CD drive, or some other
random error during the installation. There is no need to further
investigation, and will leave RESOLVED INVALID.
