Description Jean-Daniel Dodin 2005-08-20 06:09:41 UTC
beta 1 was installed to boot on the partition the system was installed on, not
MBR (there was other things on the mbr).

updating to beta2 changes this to MBR. This was probably visible in the last
install, screen, but should not be by default (the old boot menu is gone)

Are you speaking about update, or installation? Could you attach logs (see
http://www.opensuse.org/index.php/Submit_a_bug for details)?

Comment 4 Jean-Daniel Dodin 2005-08-22 16:50:24 UTC
I had bbeta 1 installed and I made an update frome the beta2 cd
before the update the suse boot was MBR (Mandrake)->hda8/suse menu (see the
mandrake lilo.conf attached)
after the update (default) MBR was suse...

Thanks!

Only if bootloader was originally installed to the boot sector of the
partition holding /boot subtree, the target was reset to MBR.

Fixed in SVN, please, test with Beta4.
