Did you select minimal installation or did you edit the bootloader configuration? Please provide YaST2 logs (whole /var/log/YaST2 directory), see: http://www.opensuse.org/index.php/Bug_Reporting_FAQ#YaST The graphics card itself is completely supported by SL 10.0. I can't reproduce this problem, but I have the same videocard (Insprion 8600) and it made me problems with 3D. After installing the nVidia-Drivers (7167) and setting up with sax everything worked fine. But after reboot the graphics system didn't start. In /var/log/messages I read about unsupported modul by Novell. Switching back to nv solved the problem. With 2D the card works fine. Perhaps it's related to this bug? If not, I will recheck (latest) nVidia drivers with beta3, and then open a bug, if the problem still exists. User error. The person for whom I wrote this defect, created the GRUB entry manually and omitted the vga setting in the kernel parameters. This is not a defect. Marking s invalid. |
