Please add the output of lshal (with plugged in device) to the bug. Do you know which of the ttyUSB devices is the hotsync port? (serial port 1 or 0 ?) I should've added that the detection happened when I pushed the hotsync button using kpilot's wizard. Kpilot failed to detect it. Trying it again in order to get the lshal info and it didn't happen this time. I guess that makes it kind of hard to fix when I can't reproduce it. Sorry. I think but I'm not absolutely sure that the port was 1 (been quite a while since it worked). The output you asked for is attached in case it's of any use. Created attachment 47241 [details]

not sure if I'm supposed to zip plain text attachments of this size. let me
know.
Is there no 'hotsync' button on the Sony Clie ? Was the Clie connected to the computer (via USB) as you made lshal? If so, please reboot, attach the device and attach a new lshal output. If not, please attach the device and attach lshal. Oops - type. I meant to say that I did the hotsync *while* running Kpilot's wizard (for determining the port, username, etc.). It's not a physical button on the Clie, it's a screen button I have to tap on with the stylus. To answer your other question, the Clie *was* connected via USB as I made lshal but I hadn't tapped the hotsync option. Did you want me to do lshal output while hotsyncing? > Did you want me to do lshal output while hotsyncing?
this is what I want ;)

I should add that I'm not getting the Sony PDA message popup message anymore. I mentioned it before but realize I might've not been clear. I added this device to the HAL fdi file. I reassign this for the suseplugger problem to coolo. Coolo: the device should now (Beta4) have the capability pda. Sorry for being dence, but what does that mean? Does it mean that suseplugger won't try to call the modem configuration tool? Will kpilot be able to sync with it or is that something that doesn't involve opensuse? This mean: The device is now detected in HAL as pda with correct Hotsync device. And if the suseplugger changed it will no longer call the modem configuration tool. All other things is the work of the kde guys OK. Thanks. I'll go and bug the KDE team now :P No, you don't need to change something or open a new bug. I assigned this bug already to the right person. ;) Thanks! we kind of fixed this. It won't call the modem tool, but won't give you feedback either I noticed in beta 3 that it doesn't do it anymore AND Kpilot works correctly (perfectly even) with my Sony Clie SJ-22. Thanks!
