Log-in,
run yast2 (authenticate as root etc.)
Panel->...->Log out

<hangs for 2 minutes>

can accelerate this by manually closing yast2 ;-)

Not clear if it's yast's fault or gnome-session's.

Sounds like gnome-session waiting for the timeout period to expire before
forcing the app to quit.

I think this is happening because su'ed apps can't access the user's session pipe. So the session sees the window, but the app isn't receiving session messages. Upping the priority on this one.
