Description Klaus Wagner 2005-08-26 09:05:53 UTC
After a plain invocation of "sax2" on tty3 in runlevel 3, an ensuing
properly generated X configuration and return back to tty3 text screen,
SaX2 won't terminate but instead keeps displaying the spinning baton.

Inspection shows a /usr/sbin/dots process still running on tty3.
Killing it finally gives the shell prompt back.

Verified on: Zert180.suse.de (DELL Precision WS340) running SUSE 10.0b3.

killproc doesn't work on your system, seems to be a known bug
Comment 2 Dr. Werner Fink 2005-08-26 10:04:19 UTC

Just for the record: installed the update

     ~werner/Export/sysvinit-2.85-49.i586.rpm

mentioned in: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=113002#c3
and tested another SaX2 run

--> SaX2 terminated properly, problem fixed.
