Description Marco Michna 2005-08-26 10:46:00 UTC
When you set the main language to german then you have two entries in YaST
which are saying "Sicherheit und Benutzer". One of those entries is definitely
wrong and should say "Novell AppArmor" as it does in the english version.
Comment 1 Karl Eichwalder 2005-08-26 12:19:21 UTC
Sounds like a problem with update-desktop-files. ATM, I cannot verify it.
Ines, can you lend a helping hand?
Comment 2 Ines Pozo 2005-08-26 15:02:43 UTC
You are right. The mistranslated string (source text:Novell AppArmor, target
text: Sicherheit und Benutzer) is marked as "translated" in the file
update-desktop-files/entries.6.po. Kerry, can you please take care of this?

Comment 5 Ines Pozo 2005-09-08 12:42:07 UTC
This problem still persists on RC1 (tested in Spanish and German) and is quite
visible. Although the affected entry is properly translated in
update-desktop-files/entries.6.po, the translation seems to be taken from
another file, /usr/share/applications/YaST2/groups/apparmor.desktop, that
contains wrong translations:

Name=Novell AppArmor
Name[bg]=Name(apparmor.desktop): Сигурност и потребители
Name[de]=Sicherheit und Benutzer
Name[es]=Seguridad y usuarios
Name[fr]=Sécurité et Utilisateurs
Name[hu]=Biztonság és fehasználók
Name[it]=Sicurezza e utenti
Name[nb_no]=Sikkerhet og brukere
Name[nl]=Beveiliging en gebruikers
Name[sk]=Bezpečnosť a používatelia

Adrian, Stephan, can you fix this?

Comment 6 Stephan Kulow 2005-09-08 13:02:09 UTC
if you remove the translations from that desktop file, it will take the one
from update-desktop-files - sorry, but we don't overwrite existing
translations
Comment 7 Adrian Schröter 2005-09-08 13:18:32 UTC
this is already broken in the sources of of yast2-subdomain package.
Comment 8 Andreas Jaeger 2005-09-10 17:40:46 UTC
I added a patch for the package to remove the wrong translations.

Dom, please integrate the package in your own version. for RC2 this is solved,
so lowering priority.

Has obviously re-occurred for 10.1.
Comment 15 Marco Michna 2006-02-20 11:16:43 UTC
This report is about SUSE LINUX 10.0. It was fixed for this version so this bug is fixed and closed. If the problem occurs again in another version of SUSE LINUX then let it be for this version.
