I can reproduce this
Is that so big problem? So you wait few seconds :-). We have way worse problems with SATA. Is it normal delay or is disk trying to spin up in that period? i believe it is hiding a real bug: i have seen it pause for 30 second and then panic twice (and hang) on a new acer, not sure if it is the same machine. Also, we want suspend to be faster than reboot, don't we? ;-) Jens, do you want to play with this one? Sounds like the problem we have with spinning disks up and down. This will be solved in due time (I believe Pavel already posted patches on lkml for a proper pm_message_t type), I'd say we just close this. Pavel: The problem is, that we tell everyone 'use suspend-to-disk, it's working, and it is fast'. And we have a delay without any visible cause - might be frightening some people :) During that 5 seconds (might be six, hard to time) nothing happens, no disk sound is hearable. Never seen it pausing for a time as long as mentioned by seife with beta3. And since I know that SATA is problematic, I thought perhaps one of you guys is already working on a problem associated with that one. Still waiting a lot of seconds with beta4. reopening for closing it later with the kotd 2.6.13-20050901172817-default the stocking is gone. |
