Description Roger Larsson 2005-08-26 23:22:00 UTC
Updated from a freshly installed 9.3, on a slow computer IBM Thinkpad 390E
(333MHz)

All the time when having my home directory open I get message boxes flashing
with the above message. I checked the File associations there is no such
entry - but where does it come from?

/opt/kde3/share/apps/kmail/plugins/bodypartformatter/application_octetstream.desktop:Comment[sv]=Ett
insticksprogram för brevtextformatering av application/octet-stream
/opt/kde3/share/apps/kmail/plugins/bodypartformatter/application_octetstream.desktop:Comment[tg]=Модули
ба андозадарории application/octet-stream
/opt/kde3/share/apps/kmail/plugins/bodypartformatter/application_octetstream.desktop:Comment[tr]=application/octet-stream
için bir gövde biçimleyici eklentisi
/opt/kde3/share/apps/kmail/plugins/bodypartformatter/application_octetstream.desktop:Comment[uk]=Втулок
для форматування application/octet-stream
/opt/kde3/share/apps/kmail/plugins/bodypartformatter/application_octetstream.desktop:Comment[zh_CN]=application/octet-stream
的格式化插件
/opt/kde3/share/apps/kmail/plugins/bodypartformatter/application_octetstream.desktop:Type=application/octet-stream
/opt/kde3/share/apps/amarok/scripts/webcontrol/RequestHandler.py:
'': 'application/octet-stream', # Default
/opt/kde3/share/apps/amarok/scripts/webcontrol/RequestHandler.py:
'': 'application/octet-stream', # Default

And so on - the type exists but not in my installed KDE.
(I have added an association from .php to kate)

it basically means that your ksyscoca is outdated. Run kbuildsycoca and check
its output
Comment 2 Roger Larsson 2005-08-27 15:16:06 UTC
Rebuilding syscoca did not work but got me thinking...

Found ~/.kde/share/mimelnk/application/octet-stream.desktop
containing
"[Desktop Entry]
Hidden=true
MimeType=application/octet-stream
Type=MimeType"
Removed this file - works!
And this file was created before installation of beta3
