Description Joerg Reuter 2005-08-28 11:39:08 UTC
I just installed 10.0 Beta 3 on my Apple TiBook. In the installed system, no
access to the DVD drive was possible -- no wonder, the ide_cd driver wasn't
loaded. After loading the driver I gained access to the drive, of course. There
is no hwcfg entry present, either. lshal does not list the drive either, running
"hwinfo" loads the driver, though.

does it work better when not booted from linuxrc/yast, but with an initrd from
the installed system?
Comment 3 Joerg Reuter 2005-08-29 09:15:38 UTC
Well, it does work with the root system of the instsys, it does not work with
the initrd of the installed system. (We definately need some different terms
here for "installation system" and "installed system", the inst* words are too
damn close to each other, Even I have to read my own texts twice to figure out
what I was refering to...)
Comment 4 Olaf Hering 2005-08-29 09:17:48 UTC
yes, thats a bug.
Comment 5 Joerg Reuter 2005-09-01 18:40:47 UTC
Works with beta 4, thanks!
