Description Phil Stopford 2005-08-28 23:58:55 UTC
The X display is very muted (dim) at 24bpp on a IBM T21. At 16bpp there is no
problem and this issue is not seen on SuSE 9.3 Pro on the same hardware, even
with the latest DRI snapshot driver from freedesktop.org for the savage hardware.

Please attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

sounds similar to my #113810.

for me (only) the savage_drv.o from 9.3 works correctly (bright display),
beta-1/2/3 drivers are all identical: dimm and broken...

Since I don't expecat any more feedback I close this now as duplicate. It
might indeed be the same problem.

Indeed, it's the same S3 Savage chipset (5333:8c12).
