Description Efthimios Toulas 2005-08-30 10:52:06 UTC
If I switch to the terminal there is no problem.
At the moment I'm switching back X crashes and kdm starts again...

Used Graphicboard (taken from lspci):
0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. S3 Unichrome Pro
VGA Adapter (rev 01)

I also tested starting pure X in runlevel 3, see attached strace output.

Comment 5 Vincent van de Camp 2006-03-16 18:33:46 UTC
This still happens on my install of SuSE 10.0 Final. Switching to terminal 1 to monitor boot messages is successful and after that I can switch to other text terminals (alt+arrow keys). But when I tryi to switch back using ctrl+alt+F7 the machine hangs completely and needs to be reset.

This bug is about a VIA chip and not ATI Radeon X300!
