Letting UI team comment, but I suspect this is WONTFIX. OK, it is a really minor issue, but it would be nice to have some brighter and more optimistic themes. I have searched www.gnome.org and I must admit that most of the window decorations available there are pretty depressing as well :( After some experimenting, I have found a combined theme that is quite pleasurable to my eyes: Controls: Whiteplate Window borders: Clearlooks Icons: SphereCrystal It is a very clear, bright, blueish theme similar to KDE Plastik. We are not currently trying to achieve aesthetic parity between the themes used in GNOME and KDE. I am happy that you have found themes that you can apply to make your desktop work for you. I suggest that you use those themes, and I genuinely hope that they give you the happy feeling you are looking for. We are not going to change our default theme right now. We will however keep your feedback in mind as we work on newer generations of the theme. |
