Description Thomas Schweiger 2005-08-31 11:51:01 UTC
I have created a standard xorg.conf using sax2 and boot the system. As long the
X-server isn't started the console ist working well. The monitor, which is a
"FUS" "S-19" flatscreen (due to xorg.conf), displays a vertical refresh rate of
59 Hz, what seems to be ok, because it displays the boot up screen.

After xdm hast started, switching back to a text console, the display claims,
that the frequencies of 30kHz/28Hz would be out of valid range and the console
keeps black :(

I'll attach xorg.conf, hwinfo and Xorg.0.log.

Nothing obvious I can see here in the logfile. Please try

  Option "Nohal"

in section device of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

This Option fixes the problem :-)
Comment 6 Stefan Dirsch 2005-08-31 14:39:11 UTC
Ok. I changed this now in X11 configuration (x11DB). Fixed for RC1.
