Description Christian Boltz 2005-09-01 21:02:49 UTC
When updating my 9.3 installation to 10.0 beta3, I got the following error
message in YaST installation summary (translations attached):

Installationsmedien (install media) <- clickable Headline
keine gültigen Installationsmedien (no valid install media)
ERROR: no proposal

Nonetheless the summary lists the number of packages that will be updated /
installed - so I think this bug is only "displaying an error message though
everything is OK".

When I click on "Installationsmedien" (install media) and select the 10.0
media again, the error message goes away.

It seems you have wrong media, please, check your media with MediaCheck starting
the installation, or check MD5sums.

Michael, what dou you think about this bug, please?
Comment 3 Christian Boltz 2005-09-06 23:43:32 UTC
I had no time to check the MD5sums yet, so just some information:
- it's the DVD you (SUSE) sent me by snail mail
- as described, it works when re-selecting the install media
(means: the media should be OK because it works then)
- I guess it also works before because YaST displays how many
packages will be installed or updated

The media is ok.

- Initializing the InstSrcManager, /var/adm/YaST/InstSrcManager/tmp is created
  without error.
- The following attempt to mount the media fails with 'No such file or directory'.
- Somewhat later a 2nd attempt to mount to it succeeds. But there's been no
  attempt to recreate /var/adm/YaST/InstSrcManager/tmp.

That's strange. But I don't have similar reports nor am I able to reproduce it.
