I have a static ip which is not given by a dhcp server. 
configured the network during the installation, online update check etc. ok.  
Then the installation process makes the first boot after the installation is 
completed... no network. You have to start the network manually or reboot the 
computer completely.  
I have no idea or the same thing is happening if you'll get the ip by dhcp.

It may be a duplicate of bug 112909, triggering when there's another OS 
installed on the disk. But let's see the logs.
