boot into runlevel 5 and leave the system at the kdm screen.
plug in firewire disk, the partitions get mounted.

/dev/hdd4 /media/zip subfs rw,sync,nosuid,nodev 0 0
/dev/sda2 /media/momobay_part2 subfs rw,sync,nosuid,nodev 0 0
/dev/sda2 /media/momobay_part2 ext2 rw,sync,nosuid,nodev 0 0
/dev/sda4 /media/extended subfs rw,sync,nosuid,nodev 0 0
/dev/sda4 /media/extended hfsplus ro,sync,nosuid,nodev 0 0
/dev/sda3 /media/hfs subfs rw,sync,nosuid,nodev 0 0

noone logged in.

could be a submount bug.

this happens also if the drive is already connected during boot.

This is fixed for Beta4 and a YOU update. please check if it works with submount 
package from STABLE until the YOU update is available.

this does still happen on date.suse.de, unless I missed to upgrade a package.

hm ... looks like a ppc specific bug. As we explored this happens on every 
second start of HAL and on boot. Really strange since this only happen with ppc.

Nothing we can do here, we don't have ppc-hardware.
