Description Michael Stather 2005-09-03 18:20:46 UTC
The popular german newspage www.n24.de is rendered wrong using SuSE 9.3 and 10.0
(just go to the frontpage and you´ll see).On other linux distros like mandriva
and windows it´s rendered fine, so it must have something to do with the
settings of SuSE.
Comment 1 Wolfgang Rosenauer 2005-09-03 19:30:41 UTC
I don't see a difference between our Firefox builds and the ones from mozilla.org.
And I don't think that settings outside of Firefox can change the rendering in
that way, if you speak about overlapping text sections in the right half.
Please give some better information to reproduce this.
Comment 2 Michael Stather 2005-09-04 13:33:06 UTC
Yes I mean the texts overlapping so that the page is unreadable.
What do you mean with "give more informations"? I just know that this page is
displayed fine with other distros, regardless of the firefox version.
Perhaps this is a firefox bug, but it only shows up with SuSE.
Comment 3 Wolfgang Rosenauer 2005-09-04 14:42:12 UTC
So you say that "with other distros" the mozilla.org firefox 1.0.6 version
doesn't show this behaviour? Can you post a screenshot from where it works?
Then the only thing I can think about are font settings.
Comment 4 Robert O'Callahan 2005-09-05 00:03:01 UTC
I think it's a font size issue. If you use ctrl-minus to reduce the font size,
it starts to work fine. Try increasing the font size on Window or Mandriva to
see if the bug then shows up. I bet it does.

This might be a Mozilla layout bug, or it might be the site requiring an IE
quirk, I'm not 100% sure. Please file a bug in http://bugzilla.mozilla.org and
we'll sort it out there.
Comment 5 Michael Stather 2005-09-05 12:16:58 UTC
Yes that´s right, even on windows it´s rendered wrong when I increase the font
size. I´ll file a bug at mozilla.
Thanks for your help :)

We won't handle it here. Thanks for your test.
