Description Joris Spekreijse 2005-09-04 11:22:17 UTC
When a package is needed, but marked as taboo, that package wil allways be
installed when another package needs it.
I´ve got a Dutch translation, so some terms may have been translated wrong.

1/ Start Yast. Deinstall Xine, but not Kaffeine.
2/ Mark Xine as taboo and check the option ¨ignore and risk system instabillity¨
3/ Quit Yast. Manually compile and install Xine.
4/ Start Yast. Install a random package and the Xine package will also be
installed, eventhough it´s marked as taboo.

There´s an option to use ´Checkinstall´ instead of ´make install´, but that
doesn´t solve the problem of a not working taboo option.
Even enabling other options by checking the package dependency won´t work.

IIRC the "taboo" setting is only valid for the current session.
