Go to YaST:network, select 'Advanced', then 'Detailed Settings'. Set 'Device Activation' on 'On Cable Connection' Do that for both interfaces. Two dhcp clients running in parallel don't make sense. Yes, two dhcp clients to the same time makes not sense. But changing from internal interface to the wireless interface or back without shutdown the system, makes sense and that was the point. Setting On Cable Connection works but only if I shutdown the system. To restart the network over /etc/init.d/network is not enough. There is a problem with the DNS resolution. Ping to the router is working but name resolution not, only after restart. This worked in general, only with WPA and dhcp there were problems. But also these problems are fixed for RC1. If it will not work with RC1, then please file a bug report that describes the problem as exactly as possible. Including configuration files, error messages and so on. This bug report does not contain usefull information. And 'works only after reboot' sounds weird. |
HW: HP Omnibook 6100, 1 GHz 3Com PCMCIA PC Card 3CRWE62092B D-Link DSL-G604T DSL Router The 3Com Card is installed as eth1, network is up and communication with the router is possible if the internal network card (eth0) is unplugged. Only the name resolution is not working. Both interfaces are configured same as dhcp client. Both entries I found in /var/log/messages after cold start.
