Description Jiri Dluhos 2005-09-06 07:43:38 UTC
It seems that the user-specified user icon is not used by kdm; when I change my
user icon, kdm still uses the initially assigned icon.

E.g. when the system gives me a red pawn icon, and I later change it in the KDE
Control Center to a teddybear, the kdm login still shows the red pawn with my
name. The setting, however, is not forgotten, the teddybear icon appears when I
open the KDE Control Center dialog again, it is just not used by kdm.

it works fine for me. You're talking about the login manager settings, right?
When I pick a picture for coolo there, it works fine. Please check if
a /opt/kde3/share/apps/kdm/faces file is created for your user

I haven't access to the computer where this happened right now, but I will check.

It was my fault. I had the image source set to Administrator. When I switched it
to 'User, then Administrator', everything worked like magic.

So everything is okay, only I am stupid :-)
