Description Karl Eichwalder 2005-09-06 14:08:35 UTC
Inés installed beta4plus with VNC (KDE default installation).

After the installation the system (K21.suse.de) booted into runlevel 5, but kdm
does not present a login dialog.

Xvnc is still running, but I cannot connect because I don't know the vnc
password. I also don't know the root password. BTW, it seems there is a firewall
active, since I can only connect to vnc server when I'm logged in k21.
Comment 2 Karl Eichwalder 2005-09-07 07:58:52 UTC
I guess it is running because I tried to restart it again manually. Password
will be send privately to you.
Comment 3 Stefan Dirsch 2005-09-07 08:35:17 UTC
Just talked to Marcus. VNC can only be used for installation. kdm does not start
an additional Xvnc by default when VNC is used for installation. This is
intentional. You need to enable remote administration for achieving this
("yast2 remote").

Reasonable - thanks for the info!
