Description Andreas Kleen 2005-09-07 11:03:40 UTC
When compiling a kernel with -j5 over NFS/tcp to a 9.3 server the network hangs
after some time. Can be easily reproduced on mainline 2.6.13 too. Looks like the
NIC gets stuck on TX. RX seems to still work. The TCP buffers are filled so I
guess it is has the flow control disabled.

It looks a bit similar to that never quite explained bug we had before 9.3
with Solo bcm5700s locking up (the machine is not a Solo, but I put an older tg3
in because the native e1000 doesn't work reliably) But this is a 5701.

Olaf, can you reproduce that too?
Comment 1 Olaf Kirch 2005-09-07 11:14:58 UTC
No, it seems to work here
Comment 2 Andreas Kleen 2005-09-07 11:20:18 UTC
I suppose it's some quirk of the driver or the hardware.

I spent so much time on this before 9.3 that I'm not very motivated for it
again.
Comment 3 Andreas Kleen 2005-09-07 11:30:25 UTC
Actually it's a 5700 so it's 99% the same bug.

Making it a dup.
