Description Hans Witvliet 2005-09-08 22:13:07 UTC
Supplied information not used.

System: HP-Proliant DL360, 320
Display: HP-TFT 5600 RKM
(but probably not hw specific)

After booting into grub, the installer thinks de display can handle 1280x1024,
which it can not. No big deal.
Pressing twice F3, and changing resolution to 1024x768.

At hardware configuration, configurator suggest again 1280x1024. Again changing
it to XGA (1024x768).

After booting, display is unusable, out-of-sync (probably again 1280x1024)

Work around:
pressing ctrl-alt-F1
login as root
change to run-level-3
run sax2
choose -> LCD, 1024x768, test, save&exit

Some how wrong HW-detection, OK, but having to specify it three times?

Will try it with RC1 ASAP

When the same hardware is detected in the same way for three times it seems that
the detection-tool might have wrong information about supported resolutions.
Comment 2 Steffen Winterfeldt 2005-09-09 09:25:53 UTC
Then your display (incorrectly) says it supports 1280x1024.

Run 'hwinfo --monitor' and see for yourself.
