Description Olaf Hering 2005-09-09 11:45:52 UTC
/etc/sysconfig/kernel should contain INITRD_MODULES="ohci1394 sbp2", but this
variable is empty.
as a result, root on firewire will not work.

No idea if installation on forewire disks is considered to be a supported
feature. At least I did not hear anything about this.

Steffen, the controller data provided by hwinfo does not tell anything about
modules ohci1394 and sbp2. Additionally the disk all have IDE as bus information.
Comment 3 Steffen Winterfeldt 2005-09-12 10:10:07 UTC
hwinfo treats firewire similar to usb. Firewire controllers are not
part of the general storage controller list.

Disks are linked to the correct controller, though, and even the driver
is correctly listed.

It's the SCSI disk, btw.
