That's an enhancement. Also check out the package-wishlist: http://www.opensuse.org/Package_Wishlist To werner: Is there a special reason for this? I have just downloaded auctext 11.55 from http://www.gnu.org/software/auctex/ and installed it (built an rpm out of it with the 11.14 spec as base) and out of the box the emacs displays me sections etc. in bigger fonts... Ahmmm ... AFAIK the versions between 11.14 and 11.50 were never available as stable but only as beta. And the versions between 11.50 and 11.55 isn't that what I call stable. Not for SuSE Linux 10. Btw: Do they have updated the dinbrief to the newest version. Note that I'm the author of dinbrief and I've send this a few years ago to the AucTeX people. I dont know if it is the latest version, there is no version identifier in it but it mentions you as the author, I will attach it. I personally find it quite stable, working with it for a while with our university computers on other distro. I dont know how widely distributed the feature of auctex is, that it shows sections etc. in bigger fonts, but here people advertise the use of auctex also because of this, and I remember some people waiting for 9.3 so that maybe the feature is there, and some waiting for 10.0 so that maybe the feature is there. What do you mean with unstable, I havent had any problems with it on debian, but maybe they have patched it. As a (hopefully temporary) workaround I have added the 11.55 to my personal apt repository lots of people here use as a source for packages.... Created attachment 49453 [details]

The new dinbrief.el
This is the new dinbrief.el which should work
with the current dinbrief.sty included in teTeX.
The old dinbrief.el was for an other dinbrief.sty
version known at the university Stuttgart 1992.
