When configuring to boot with lilo, I noticed that there was no memtest section
configured by default (there used to be, right?), so I thought I'd just add it
myself.  It looks ok, but once you hit Finish and go back to the summary screen,
the section is gone - also when you go back into to edit.

The initial bootloader proposal for GRUB also does not contain a memtest entry.

The memtest86 package is not part of the base selection, you must select it 
manually. Then the memtest section appears automatically.
