Description Michael Stather 2005-09-10 11:45:20 UTC
When I go into the "change sources" module and try to change an item of the type
CD or DVD, I get a dialog to chosse from "/dev/cdrom" and "/dev/dvd". This
description is wrong, it asks for the media type not for devices. So I think it
should be just "CD" and "DVD". I don´t even have /dev/cdrom on my system
Comment 1 Michael Gross 2005-09-12 12:54:19 UTC
One could argue that these devices correspond to a certain media-type.
Furthermore, you might want to choose a special device as installation source.

Setting severity to enhancement and reassigning.
Comment 2 Michael Stather 2005-09-14 22:51:35 UTC
Yes but then you should IMHO make the user select from the devices which are
actually present on his system, e.g. /dev/dvd and /dev/dvdrecorder.

Thomas, can I get from the sotrage module somehow all CD/DVD devices?
Comment 4 Thomas Fehr 2005-09-27 09:38:54 UTC
There is a global list StorageDevices::cddrives that contains all cdroms
hwinfo detects
Comment 5 Jiri Srain 2005-09-27 11:00:07 UTC
Thanks!

I just fixed the labels and left the functionality as it was - it just
switched between CD and DVD anyway.

Done in SVN for 10.1.
