Description r myster 2005-09-12 23:19:12 UTC
hardware: Intel d915gav mb sata hd
suspend to ram worked in 10 beta3 and beta4. After installing 10 rc1, suspend to
ram will suspend normally but only wakes up to a blank screen that requires a
complete power off to reboot. I reinstalled beta 4 and the problem reappeared
after upgrading to the 2.6.13-9 smp kernel so apparently the issue is related to
the newer kernel since the 2.6.13-3 smp kernel version worked fine. The
2.6.13-8 smp kernel that comes with the rc1 install acts the same as the
2.6.13-9 smp kernel. Update to the latest bios gives same results. If this is
the same issue as bug 105800, disregard.

Stfan: This system does not hang in the BIOS.

In case this info is of any help.....
additional test hardware: Intel d865gbf mb ide hd 10.0 beta 4 installed
2.6.13-3 smp & 2.6.13-8 smp kernels tested
With both kernels, the suspend to ram portion works but the system will not
return a screen after waking up(same problem as with the 2.6.13-8 smp & 2.6.13-9
smp kernels with rc1 installed). The drives wake up but the screen is blank. A
power down and restart is required to escape the problem; the reset button or
ctrl-alt-del does nothing. I did look at the suspend2ram log after rebooting and
there is nothing after the "prepare_sleep finished for suspend2ram" entry in the
log. Does anyone have any suggestions to try or is this an Intel issue?

this might be a SMP issue. This is an area of code where much has changed recently. Any chance you can try a 10.1 beta?
