Description Gavin Rogers 2005-09-13 00:41:05 UTC
i'm using amarok with the latest update to RC1, amarok 1.3.1 using KDE 3.4.2
level "b" and i'm on an iBook. I had audio working fine right away with alsa
using the beta 4 installer, but now that i have upgraded to RC1, amarok is
broken. when i go into engines in the preference panel and select the xine
engine (is it the only one available other than the /dev/null thing), i get an
error:

xine was unable to initialize any audio-drivers.

i then click on OK and it tells me in a pop-up box

Sorry, the 'xine-engine' could not be loaded, instead we have loaded the
'void-engine'.

so... that is pretty much all the date i can get right now

i'm going to try to compile xine-lib from cvs and see if that fixes it, but i
thought i'd let you know that the upgrade as it stands BREAKS the xine engine

ok, so you do have a separate xine installation already? I don't recommend
that you compile your own xine.

rpm -qa | grep xine

please.
