Description Forgotten User wR5b4d_6ui 2005-09-15 11:49:24 UTC
I have a Packard Bell 15" LCD TFT500 Monitor. SAX 2 recognises a 15" VESA
Monitor with very different specifications. When I attempt to change the Monitor
in SAX2 it let's me do all the changes, but will not save them. Instead an error
message pops up, saying that line 101 in xorg.conf is missing a valid
identifier. Here the section and line concerned:

Section "Monitor"
UseModes "Modes[1]
EndSection

The modifications couldn't been saved. Every attempt to edit /var/lib/sax/org
manually failed as well, because SAX2 overwrites it at every startup.

if you don't mind would you please call "sax2 -r" from runlevel 3
as user root. Now click on "Change Configuration" and perform the same
action as before to change your monitor. If you now try to run a test
the problem should occur. After this exit sax and send me the log file

   /var/log/SaX.log

Thanks
