Description Dusan Peterc 2005-09-16 19:20:21 UTC
Nedit was present in SUSE for a long time, up to SUSE 9.0
It is a really nice, user friendly and small gui editor.
Here is the link to the last RPM
http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/suse/9.0/i386/suse/i586/nedit-5.3-235.i586.html
For example, one instance of Kate eats up 35 MB of ram (23 real),
and takes 5 seconds to start.
nedit eats up 7 MB of RAM (4 MB real) and starts immediately.
It would be really nice to have it back on SUSE.
Currently, SUSE Linux lacks a simple and small user friendly
editor for normal people (not the vi or emacs die hards),
who just need to edit a configuration file or edit HTML.
The Nedit's canonical URL is
