Description m. bracher 2005-09-18 14:13:59 UTC
For Laptop computers, the default for network device activation (builtin
ethernet card) should be changed to "On Cable Connection" (instead of "at boot
time")

It is a very good feature, but I think, most users will not use it because it is
"hidden" in the Advanced settings...

We will have major changes for 10.1 regarding network management, your
suggestion will be taken into account. I can't promise that we will change the
default, but it will be considered.

Thank you. I would like to precise: it only makes sense to change the default
when it is a MOBILE COMPUTER, for servers/desktop computers the default "at boot
time" is good and should not be changed. (I don't know how difficult it is to
detect if it is a laptop)
